one world ecstatic Dance bonn
with our musical globetrotter Michael Schatzschneider - aka DJ TreasureTailor
You've probably seen the term "Ecstatic Dance" before, but what does it actually entail?
It's about dancing in an ecstatic way - who would have thought - but it's also so much more than that!
At ONE WORLD ECSTATIC DANCE BONN you dance as if no one is watching you - dancing without the judgement of others and dancing without boundaries.
Ecstatic Dance has become increasingly popular worldwide in recent years and is by no means a contemporary activity. This form of dance has been practiced throughout human history and is known as a meditative activity that grounds us and unites us with the music.
How beautifully dance can help us heal!
ONE WORLD ECSTATIC DANCE BONN promotes free dance as well as a sense of community and leads participants to their own centre through the dance components. In this way, body awareness is trained, stress is reduced and inner peace and happiness are created.
This is a natural state in which your consciousness shifts and you can experience a meditative and happy state of mind through body movements. Besides the fact that it is a lot of fun to move your body to the music, this form of dance is also scientifically proven to support your mental and physical health.
The best thing about Ecstatic Dance is that there are almost no rules! There are only three important rules you should follow when participating:.
no alcohol/drugs
no talking
no judgement
Other than that there are no restrictions - There is no choreography, there is no genre of set music and most importantly: there is nothing but love and acceptance around you. It's a safe space for you to really express yourself however you want.
Goal:
In this sense, ONE WORLD ECSTATIC DANCE BONN serves to bring together different people in terms of age, origin, education, activity and physicality through a free movement dance based on music and musical styles of different countries and cultures.
Program:
ONE WORLD ECSTATIC DANCE BONN is framed with a yoga-like beginning and ending. This framework serves first of all to enable the dancers to come to themselves, to experience community with each other and to arrive at the place itself. The final segment is about processing the dance experience for oneself. This framing is carried out by the internationally experienced Richenda Gilhofer (trained, among others, at the dance schools of Rotterdam and Cologne).
The main part of the event is the music, which begins with slow-quiet contemplation, then develops into a big wave that becomes quiet again towards the end.
The music is selected by Michael Schatzschneider (DJ TreasureTailor and founder/organiser of Ecstatic Dance Bonn and supporting member of ONE WORLD PROJECT e. V.) from many worldwide styles, having himself lived in seven countries and worked in 35, as well as having enjoyed DJ training from Ecstatic Dance International. Michael has also been an Ecstatic Dance guest DJ in Croatia, Serbia, Pakistan and Jordan.
